Classic 90's moments

Most Knicks fans these days have been reduced to talking about the "Glory Days" of the 90's Knicks...For hours people (myself included) can go on and on about "the dunk", "The 4 point play", Houston dropping 39 in game 6 in 99', even the Hubert Davis phantom call can be thrown into that mix...what doesn't get mentioned is the "other classic moments" that went down in the garden and througout the country durring the knicks 90's run...here are some of my favorites

1. In 1993 or 94' the knicks are mopping the floor with the 76'ers who are mired in a Charles Barkley Hangoever, and are now dealing with a bigger headache in #4 bust of the world Sharron Wright...I believe they had the verbally entertaining backcourt of Johnnie Dawkins and Hersey Hawkins too...well in this typical 90's knicks blow out the knicks bring in former #1 pick Eric Anderson of Indiana. Anderson had played about 9 minutes total that year, stuck behind Charles Smith, Anothy Mason , Tony Campbell and possibly Anthony Bonner...Anderseon enters the game and immediately tears his ACL ending his historic and Illustrious career...As a consilation prize anderson is carried off to a standing ovation of about 9,000 faithful new yorkers...Eric Anderson can now say that he and Joe Namath are the only two new york players to be carried off the field/court in the final minutes to a standing ovation...

2. In another early 90's nail biter the Knicks r beating the sixers by a good 15 points midway thru the 3rd quarter...all of a sudden all eyes are to the Spike Lee end of the garden as Anthony Mason and Maneut Bol are jawing and having words, all of a sudden Bol throws up both fists and starts bobbing and weaving like he was Joe Frazier fighting at the worlds most famous in 73'...obviously not much came of the fight but anytime a 7'6" 200 pound man squares of with someone 6'7" 260 lbs it must be noted...

3. Another great 93' moment came with the Knicks on the west coast, playing the suns, now everyone remmebers doc rivers and kevin johnson duking it out and everyone remembers greg anothny dressed like a carribean waiter coming out of no where to sucker punch kevin johnson...but heres two things to be discussed 1. Blind side haymakers from people in street cloths warrented a 5 game ban in 93'...While now blind side haymakers from players ON the court warrant 15 games (right carmello)...and apprently blind side haymakers thrown at fans get you between 30-60 games...what would greg anthonys punishment have been in 2007??? 2. Why was greg anthony dressed like a carribean waiter???

love it timmy. let's get one or two more and then I'm sending it off to Alan Hahn for his thoughts. I'm going to try and dig up some stuff on Monty Williams, although I don't really know what or expect to find much. I guess that reading about Etan Thomas' recent heart troubles makes me think about Eddy Curry and the obvious next strand in this line is if the heart monitors and defibrillators that 'the world's most' keep courtside have and old on-its-last-legs-curling-up-on-the-sides piece of masking tape with the faded letters M.Williams on it.

Found my collection of old basketball cards yesterday, thought I would share some shots from the most honerable knicks teams of the 90s.

Gotta pay respect to the man in the middle....

We miss you big man.

This is Petra, and she's really fly.

Supposedly this is the dancer Isiah / MSG paid to flirt with Referees. Who knows if this is true (it came out after this whole harassment case, and right now any money hungry female garden employee is planning a case against MSG...but i wouldn't doubt it.). Good job Isiah.
Stephon Marbury recently opened up a custom car company, called Star-Motoring, featuring a Phantolade. Actually looks kinda dope.

This guy is supposed to lead the Knicks to a NBA title?
