On this Historic Day, I bring you Bockers History

Looking forward to this nice MLK Matinee at the World's most round and renound today...Great way to cap off a classic sports weekend here in the concrete jungle of cement. Overshadowed by Bombers v Sox, Knickerbockers Celtics is a classic sports matchup too, lets not forget. Except us young bloods werent around to witness most of it. Except for 1990, and i dunno how many of you fools were necessarily tuned in to channel 10 MSG network at age seven like my loony ass, but maybe i can bring back some memories. I'll get back to 1990, in a big way. But first, Did you Know:

In 1973, the Knicks won game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals on the road IN Boston. Whhaat? Yeah, that must have been pretty dope. Knicks were up 3-1 in the series, C's fought back to tie the series at 3, winning game 6 here at the garden, and then Clyde and the fellas rolled up to boston, mashed some babies, and won game Seven 94-78. There's a great shot of Clyde walking off the court at the boston garden with his number 1 finger pointed at the rafters. Then the knicks went on to beat Pat Riley and the Lakers 4-1 in the Finals, for their second title in 4 years. Also our last championship......ouch ok i wont go there.

Also did you know: In 1984, Hubie Brown, Bernard King, and the Bockers lost to Larry Bird and the Celtics in the second round, in a long seven game series in which the home team won every game...? The Knicks forced game 7 with a dramatic 2 point win at the garden in game 6, but then lost game 7 in Boston. The Celtics then shat on the bucks in the eastern conference finals and beat Magic and the Lakers in 7 in the finals.......In case you are wondering, a few games into the following season, King blew his knee out, the knicks sucked, didnt make the playoffs, won the lottery, and drafted ewing. B King from Kings county, BK from BK, must have really been the truth.......

Ok im back in 1990 bitches. This is as far back as my tv / radio / sports watching memories go. I dont remember regular season games or anything, didnt really know what was going on other than eating peanut butter and humpin girls in the first grade,,,but in the backround of my life, there was always knicks basketball going on, led by my ace P Ew. And i'll never forget, Warm spring day and all of a sudden im immersed in game 5 of this first round series, Knicks at Boston. I dont remember any of the first 4 games,,,, i dont think i watched them..... but here it was , second half of game 5, aging celtics squad cant hold off the young rising knicks, who are storming through the 4th quarter, silencing the crowd. And then about a minute left, a bad pass ricochets into the corner in front of the knicks bench, and Ewing picks it up, turns around, and drains the 3 bomb from the corner. They like to show that highlight a lot. Never forget Van Gundy on the bench, Buggin out. Classic..................................in the second round they lost to isiah and the pistons..... Ok i wont start. Isiah has sexy time with men though.

A little bocker history. And on this day, when we have much to be thankful to Doc King for, lets be thankful also for this particular monday off, because we are, many of us, severley hung over, since the football Giants played like champs in zero degrees and are going to the big show, the least we could do was drink until we couldnt stand. Back to 1990. Later that year, or i guess January of 1991 it was, some of us may remember watching Leonard Marshall knock joe montana the fuck out, niners running back #33 whatever his name was fumble the rock, and eventually Matt Barr, with that goofy one bar on his helmet kick the game winning field goal and the Tuna put his fists up and the giants in their road whites wilin out cuz they were going to the superbowl. A little like last night.........So G Men vs Patriots.... NYC vs boston....this blog really has come full circle ha ba da. FULL circle son. Go G Men.... Hopefully the knicks can be inspired and hand the Celtics an ass beating today. I know im contradicting myslef all the time by the way i know P man i know,,,, yes i want a high lottery pick, yes i want derek rose or the cat from kansas state or any stud, but deep down of course i want us to represent and win. And speaking of full circles, we still have no answer on what the full circle duck taped to jcraws shoulder is.... Somebody holler.....

Found my collection of old basketball cards yesterday, thought I would share some shots from the most honerable knicks teams of the 90s.

We miss you big man.

Supposedly this is the dancer Isiah / MSG paid to flirt with Referees. Who knows if this is true (it came out after this whole harassment case, and right now any money hungry female garden employee is planning a case against MSG...but i wouldn't doubt it.). Good job Isiah.
Stephon Marbury recently opened up a custom car company, called Star-Motoring, featuring a Phantolade. Actually looks kinda dope.

This guy is supposed to lead the Knicks to a NBA title?
