All Is Not Lost

I actually started this post about 5 minutes ago, jotted down a few sentences, watched Eddy Curry physically hand the ball to Jamal Crawford (without a Clipper even in the backcourt) resulting in a violation, erased everything I had written, and now here I am again. I'm actually a bit embarassed that with such a tumultous and headlne-laden past few days, I've failed to submit any posts. At least my fellow Lovers have been keeping the fire burning. Much appreciated.
So heading into tonight's game against a 4-2 Clippers, after last night's deceivingly close blowout loss to Phoenix, with Steph AWOL, Z-Bo on bereavement leave, Nate nursing a hammy, Q out with an overextended shoulder, and Ro Show and Never Tardy both sidelined with sprained ankles, things couldn't really get much bleaker. I was actually surfing the web to see if we had retained Jared Jordan's rights and if it would be possible to recall and activate him for tonight's game. Fast forward a few hours to mid first quarter, and the Knicks are boasting a lineup of Z-Bo, Eddy, Q, Steph and Jamal with Nate waiting to check in. Eddy is posting and toasting, Z-Bo is picking up 3 offensive boards and heading to the line on one possession, Steph is driving to the hoop undetered, Jamal is throwing oops to Eddy, and Q is tossing up enough bricks to build him and Isiah a nice weekend getaway house in the Pocanos. Pretty much, wins and loses aside, it felt like it did early in the season. Wait a second, IT IS EARLY IN THE SEASON. I was making a conscious effort to not discuss the Steph and Zeke The Workplace Freak drama, but I guess it really is impossible to avoid. The second half is underway, so I'm going to wrap up this very short post. Without discussing who was more wrong in the lastest saga, Isiah is right in waying that every november, he and Steph go through some drama and then they 'kiss and make up'. This most recent fallout is certainly on a much larger scale than we've sen in the past, but it only lasted for about 36 hours and seems to be resolved. And guess what, Steph is playing some lockdown D on Sam Cassell and Eddy Curry (who was also called out by Zeke) has 8 rebounds 3 minutes into the 3rd quarter. Look, Steph and Isiah both came off as ego-centric meglomaniacs, which they both are. But there is going to be the inevitable over-the-top, exaggerated, soap operaesque, blowup fight, so is it not better to get it out of the way now, than in December or January? Obviously, it would be nice for this to not happen, but for such a dysfunctional franchise, its been made painfully clear that its unavoidable. This also isn't to say that this is 'the one' and now its out of our system, because we've been trained to acknowledge that when we think 'okay, at least it can't get any worse', its just started. Speaking of which, the Clippers are on a 17-1 run and we've missed our last 11 shots. Oy vey . . . I'm out. And there's an awful turnover. Now I'm out. And another . . .

Now Isiah is in trouble. All of the Knicks voted against Marbury playing last night, at Thomas' request, but then he plays him almost the entire game?!?! What kind of coaching is that? What kind of MAN is that?? There's 14 other players in that locker room and Isiah goes against them? I'm almost too angry right now to keep writing. peace

Found my collection of old basketball cards yesterday, thought I would share some shots from the most honerable knicks teams of the 90s.

Gotta pay respect to the man in the middle....

We miss you big man.

Supposedly this is the dancer Isiah / MSG paid to flirt with Referees. Who knows if this is true (it came out after this whole harassment case, and right now any money hungry female garden employee is planning a case against MSG...but i wouldn't doubt it.). Good job Isiah.
Stephon Marbury recently opened up a custom car company, called Star-Motoring, featuring a Phantolade. Actually looks kinda dope.

This guy is supposed to lead the Knicks to a NBA title?
